Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re struggling with your thoughts, feelings, or experiences, therapy can offer support. Whether it’s anxiety, stress, grief, or relationship difficulties, talking things through can often bring clarity and relief.

What happens in a therapy session?

Sessions are a safe, judgment-free space where we’ll explore your concerns at your own pace. Together, we’ll work towards understanding your experiences and developing helpful strategies to move forward.

How long will I need therapy?

Everyone’s journey is different. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll regularly review your progress to ensure therapy remains beneficial for you.

Can I have sessions online or in person?

Absolutely. You can choose to have sessions via Zoom or in person at Basepoint Winchester — whichever feels more comfortable for you.

What if I’m unsure about committing to therapy?

That’s completely understandable. I offer a free 30-minute consultation via phone or Zoom, giving you a chance to ask questions, share your concerns, and see if it feels like the right fit. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Taking that first step can be daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to help.

How is my personal information stored and protected?

At Furlong Therapy, your privacy is a top priority. All personal information you provide is stored securely and handled in full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means your data is only used for therapeutic and administrative purposes, is never shared without your explicit consent (except where legally required), and is stored securely using encrypted systems.
